How do I create an offset polygon?

If you want to create an offset polygon, you simply select the polygon you made in your project. You select the polygon from the live map or the objects list. By pressing on the polygon, you get four new options and you choose the green button to make an offset polygon.

By pressing the green button, you will see a new window where you can make the reference offset shape you like. Simply give the distance in centimeters of how much the new shape offset versus the original shape should be. Choose “Normal” if you want the new shape surrounding the old shape. This can come in handy if want to measure a building including its precise surroundings with 100 centimetres.

If you choose “Flip”, the shape of the polygon will not surround the first polygon. Now the shape of the polygon will be inside the first polygon. This comes in handy if you can’t measure within a building or at the edge of it.

You can also choose to make a new inner and outer polygon together with one button. If this comes in handy, simply select “Double” and the new shapes will be made for you after setting the distance. Press save to make the new polygon(s).
