Creating and using a layergroup

What is a layergroup?

As the name suggests a layergroup is a group of layers of your choosing that you can link to a project. Are you currently working on a project that requires only a few layers, or maybe a specific set of layers, then you don't want to search through your entire layerlibrary for the layers you want. In this situation a layergroup would come in handy!

How do I create a layergroup?

To create your first layergroup, you log into UNI-Cloud and go to "survey", "layergroup" and then you press "Add layergroup". Here you can give your layergroup a name and link the layers you want to add to this group. Every layer you select will be shown in the projects that you link to this layergroup, all others will remain invisible for a nice shortlist of only the layers you need during your survey.

Below the layer selection, you can also link a project in which you want to use this specific layergroup, if you had already created the project beforehand. After you have linked your layers and optionally your projects, you can save the layergroup and you're done!

Can I also link the layergroup to a new project directly?

Yes! When you create a new project, you can select the layergroup you want to use in this project. You are even able to link multiple layergroups to your project if there are more layergroups needed.

If you don't select a layergroup, all layers will be shown in your project. Just like you're used to!
