How to import in the UNI-Cloud V5

How to import in the UNI-Cloud

It's finally here, the long awaited improved import functionality in the UNI-Cloud. From now on, you can import your drawing straight into the UNI-Cloud from the comfort of your office and connect it to the appropriate UNI.

Not only is this a very practical feature, it's also very easy to do!

Where can I find the import functionality?

When you're in your UNI-Cloud environment, you can open or create the project in which you want to import your file. To navigate to your projects, you go to "Survey" and then select "Project", here you will find an overview of the projects related to your account. You can open your project by pressing the blue eye-icon on the right side or create your new project by pressing Imports in the menu located on the left side.

So I've pressed import, now what?

After pressing the Import-button, you will be shown several windows to guide you through the import process. The first window is an easy one, If this is the first import you can see that there are no records and no other imports found. You can click the “+ Create” button to add your import. If you already did an import you can see this in a table with the creation data.

If you want to do a new import you click the “+ Create” in the top-right corner.

After you clicked the create button you get the option to select your import format

  • Autocad DXF (.dxf)
  • Autocad DWG (.dwg)
  • Comma-separated values (.csv)
  • KLIC-notification
  • LandXML (.xml)
  • Manual Point(s)

When you select: DXF, DWG, CSV or XML you will get the option to upload your file. You can either do this by drag and drop or by uploading your file.

After the file is uploaded you can select the layers out of the file that you want to import. With the checkbox you can select or deselect the specifc layers.  Underneath saved in you can see either existing layer or new layer.

When existing layer is selected this means the layer is already existing in your UNI-Cloud environment. By clicking the layer itself it will open the layer menu and you can select any layer that is saved in your database

When new layer is selected this means that the layer has not been made you and that it will create a new layer for you.

Preview of the import

In the next window you can see the preview of your import, above the preview window there will also be a checklist to verify if the import matches your expectations. If everything is correct, you can continue to the last window.

Saving the import

In the last window you have the option to import directly into the survey database or into the background layer.
